Looking Back

Today, we look a bit into the history of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Mark Haddon’s novel of the same title was first published in 2003, and has remained a popular and critical favorite since then. Over 5.5 million copies of the novel have been sold, and it has been translated into 44 languages.

In 2012, Simon Stephens adapted Haddon’s book for the stage, focusing strongly on encouraging the audience to dive into and experience Christopher’s world. The play premiered at the National Theatre in London under the direction of Marianne Elliott, and gained instant acclaim. The play won a record-setting 7 Olivier Awards in 2013, including Best Play. The Broadway production premiered at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in 2014, and won 5 Tony Awards in 2015, including Best Play.

Since its inception, Curious Incident has captured the imaginations of over 3 million people in 9 countries and 78 cities. We are excited to join in this exciting lineage of storytelling.
